35 Angus Steer Weaners, August/September drop. Calves are Mt Gaspard Bred, with the original Mt Gaspard Herd being established from an AI program using predominantly Lawsons/GAR genetics. Following this, top quality Ayrvale and Lawsons sires have been introduced with a great emphasis being placed on growth & carcass EBV’s. This years draft of steers are by two Lawsons bulls with the Angus Breeding Index (ABI) and the Heavy Grain Index (GRN) as shown in photos, these indexes are all around the 10 percentile mark. Calves are showing values true to Angus type with excellent muscle tone, shape & carcass. Calves would traditionally be retained to bullock weight to attack greenhams never ever program and are only being offered due to inability to get all calves to a feeder weight, due to season.
