The calves were generally good to handle. Understandably, they were a bit unsettled at being separated from their mothers, and handled through a crush.

Assessor Comments
A complete drop of steer calves, with a very small tail drafted out. These calves are March/ April 2026 drops, and have not been weaned. They will not be weaned prior to delivery. They have been sired by Tooperangus bulls, a local stud here in the Hills, with a large Te Mania influence, and Granite Ridge in recent years. These calves will average 234 kg on a curfewed basis, having been weighed at 246 kg with one hour in the yards.
The vendor has a very strong focus on docile temperament, which will show up in these calves. Albeit, they were a bit unsettled at the time of handling. These calves have been raised in a high rainfall, cold country environment, and will absolutely boom in a warmer climate.
The same vendor will also have a line of heifer calves in the same sale.
Please note, the photos and video show the calves as one mob of mixed sex, and will be used on both assessments.
