Heifers worked through the yards very well. Historically cattle handle very well but due to hand feeding this year they are even better. Approx 3 got a little stirred up in the crush but very quickly settled after leaving the crush

Assessor Comments
A quality line of 64 vendor bred Shorthorn heifers. These heifers represent the complete drop of HE Kater Shorthorn heifers this year, no heifers are being retained other than a small tail that was taken off prior to assessment. Quality well bred heifers that have been yard weaned and handled very well. Heifers have plenty of length and stretch to grow into big frame breeders for the future if given the opportunity. HE Kater have been breeding Shorthorns for many decades and have been using Futurity Shorthorn bull in most recent years. At assessment heifers had a weight range of 185-285kg to avg 228kg. Vendor has 56 Shorthorn steer brothers in this sale that avg 245kg as well as 131 Angus steers that avg 260kg.
