Temperament not assessed in Paddock
These have quietened down very well since weaning commenced with all the bellowing for the cows pretty much gone. Most handled very easily at assessment through the crush & in the race however there were the odd few that were a bit keen in the race. They had never been through the race prior to assessment, and they behaved like they had been up there numerous times. Very quiet out in the bigger yards when being photographed and videoed. They do respond well to bikes and dogs in the paddock.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, a line of Red Angus steers PCAS ELIGIBLE that come with a very good reputation and have attracted repeat buyers who have commented that these produce above average performance. These will suit restockers to grow out and background for domestic or export feeder markets. The hard work of breeding and weaning them has been done. Steers are very clean in the muzzle with no nasal discharge that is sometimes prevalent in weaners at this time of year indicating good health. These steers have definitely not suffered any setback at any stage of the life so they really should hit the ground running. There are 2 that were ringed the day prior to assessment but no male characteristics are noticeable. These are bred on lighter country, history would suggest they will really hit their straps if they are exposed to crop or winter herbage on heavier improved country. Numbers are down this year due to a reduction in breeding females. Also 24 lightweight heifers in the sale to fill decks.
