A line of vendor bred 45% Very good quality and 55% Good quality EU-accredited AA and AAx weaner heifers. These heifers are well suited to grow on to domestic weights and then finish for a range of high-quality slaughter markets. Alternatively, the top 25% of these heifers could suit to grow out and join as breeders. The heifers were assessed with a LWR of 209 - 335 kg, averaging 257kg, after 4 hours off feed. The season has been dry, though these heifers have been on grain bins consuming a Woods Stockfeed Pellet and rolled barley ration since weaning 4 months ago. Two heifers were noted with a white spot in one eye and one heifer with a slight blue eye in one eye. Five heifers also noted with a mild burden of lice eggs around their teats and hind legs, though this did not appear to be worrying the animals and there were no signs of rubbing or discomfort. The heifers are located approx 10km off the Goondiwindi - Moonie highway and would fit with any north-south trucking. They are generally soft in the coat and will move ahead quickly on good feed.
