Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Heifers were very good to handle in all areas of the yards and also considered quiet when moving from yard to yard and in the crush they were quiet. Generally, the temperament is not an issue at all. Buyers should be warned however, most cattle need to be settled down on arrival after a truck trip and in strange surroundings before they are shown the bush gate. Vendors always present their cattle in an excellent quiet manner.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, good quality weaner heifers best described as “flatback” Composites. These have been bred in light forest type country so anticipate excellent weight gains on better quality heavy developed scrub soil country. Present in forward store to store condition and look to have gone through the weaning process without a hitch. These should hit the ground running wherever they end up. Vendor has had great success in carcass competitions with their steers over many years and are doing an excellent job breeding flatback type cattle to suit the domestic supermarket trade. These heifers are surplus to requirements for future breeding purposes however that being said there are still some heifers in this lot that would make handy breeders. These still show plemty of positive carcass traits with length and depth of barrel evident in the video and photos. Vendor is a regular user of AuctionsPlus and we are finding repeat buyers operating on these cattle regularly. Producers with a backgrounding operation are advised to purchase these and see how they perform, guarantee you’ll be back for more. Note these should fit on a 2-deck but the vendor will ensure they are loaded comfortably. There is an additional two line of steers that can be purchased to fill decks.
