Steers were excellent to handle in all areas of a good set of yards. These have certainly settled down very well since being weaned and there is hardly a peep coming out of them. Buyers are requested to allow sufficient time on arrival for steers to settle down before being shown the gate.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, a good quality line of weaner steers that have presented in store to forward store condition. These are best described as flat back types and will suit to take through to heavier feeder weights for either an export or domestic job. Steers have also had no grain or antibiotics at any stage so will fit any grassfed markets at a later date. They look to be in great health with no winter as yet and are very clean in the eye and muzzle. The decision by the vendor to tip plenty of lick into the cows during the dry seasonal conditions has paid dividends. It has allowed the cows to jam plenty of milk into their calves. It has showed through in the steers, they have not experienced a pinch at any stage. They exhibit plenty of softness, length and adequate weight for age. They are bred in red Mulga country so I would envisage these will certainly pack the kilos on when they get access to some heavier Brigalow black soil country especially on improved pastures or winter crop. These will not quite fit on two decks so a B-Double will be required to collect these steers. You will notice in the video that there are about 5 Hereford/Charbray or Hereford/Brahman cross types that are brindle in colour but still no heavy Bos Indicus content.

Breeding Comments
Droughtmaster bulls are used over the British bred cows and Hereford bulls are used over the Crossbred cows.
Grazing Conditions
Running in red Mulga country with a dry coverage of native grasses and a very light cover of winter herbages from recent rainfall. Cows were supplemented with lick whilst rearing their calves.

Vendor Comments
These are just a normal turnoff of steers. The seasonal conditions have dictated that they be sold.
