A line of 8% fair, 54% good and 38% very good quality Shorthorn and Shorthorn Angus Cross EU accredited steers. These vendor bred steers range from 55% medium frame through to 45% large frame. There is a small group of approx 11 head over 400 kg full weight with the balance 280 - 399 kg. They suit to take to EU export feeder weights and then finish for a range of high quality slaughter markets. The steers were yard weaned in April using LSSH techniques and have been treated with 2 shots of 7 in 1, Pestigard, Mulitmin and Rhinogard IBR. After weaning they were confined and fed a grain based ration before going back out to good quality winter pastures from early July to now. One steer has healing pink eye in one eye - it will most likely settle to have a medium blue eye spot but he has vision in the eye and is reactive in the crush - see photo. Another steer with active pink eye was treated and removed from the line - steers will be reassess for pink eye at delivery. These are nice quality steers that have come through a very difficult season well and will continue to move forward on good feed.

Shorthorn steers sired by Bungulla & Southcote SH over SH & SH cross cows. Sh x Angus x steers are from some Angus and SH/Angus cows that have been purchased in the past five years and added to the herd. Several cows have some Charolais in background

From early July - Oct grazing good quality winter pasture of clover, rye grass and barley grass. Prior to that they were confined and fed a grain based ration in bunks from weaning in March through to late June.
