A top quality line of weaned, grain-fed suckers, offering a great opportunity for a relatively short term finish into trade new season lamb markets, or alternatively, continue on with a grain finishing program to take them out to heavy export weights, for greater margins. These lambs are very well bred, showing good body length & carcass shape, & are sired by ASHBANK rams, over very good quality Merino ewes, with excellent frame.They possess the breeding potential to grow into heavy export weights, given time & continued access to quality feed. Vendor would normally finish these lambs, especially given the close proximity to a result, but has made the decision to make room for more breeders, coming into the Spring joining season, allowing for a great opportunity for those with surplus feed, to finish these lambs & reap the reward. These lambs would benefit from being shorn coming into the warmer months & will turn into weighty lambs very quickly on continued quality feed. All lambs were individually weighed out from 31-40kg to average 37.2kg lvwt, through the auto drafter & are very forward in condition, having had access to grain for a substantial period. Most of the lambs sampled at the top end of the weight bracket presented as either 3 score or very near to it. BLACKSKY P/S lambs are renowned performers which are rarely offered as store lambs, presenting finishers with an excellent opportunity to secure top quality young lambs which have been fully inducted onto grain.

Healthy & pink, well nourished skins

Relatively clean skins, with light VM confined mainly to lowers points & belly. Skin gaining some length, but still fresh in the tip & maintaining good bloom. Lambs would bound away with a shear, or quite possibly finish into heavy unshorn suckers.

Lambs had been running with their mothers on pastures & trained on grain with trail feeding, then weaned onto fresh lucerne pick with full access to Barley grain self feeders. Lambs have had no setbacks & are continuing to receive grain supplement

Lambs are by top quality, high-indexing ASHBANK WHITE SUFFOLK sires, by very good quality large-framed MERINO ewes.

Fresh improved Lucerne pastures with Ryegrass & Clover throughout. Supplementary fed with full access to self-feeders containing Barley/ 5% Lauke grain balancer pellets, & supplement of salt/lime loose lick.

These lambs have had access to my best available feed, but am now making room for some additional breeders coming into the Spring joining period.

To vendor's best knowledge, the female portion of this lot has had no access to rams or stags.
