Assessor Comments
This is a Line of vendor bred Chrome Blood Composite Ewe Lambs, SIL to LBW Noremac W/S x Southdown and Poll Dorset Rams. Due to commence Lambing from 25th of July for 6 weeks. They were wet/dry scanned all in lamb, multiples were never identified at scanning with the intention of keeping the ewe lambs and has never done so. The vendor usually marks around 140% from his ewe lamb flock. An ideal line of well bred ewe lambs joined to terminal sires that produce quality lambs to take advantage of the strong red meat prices. Ewe Lambs were shorn at the start of last week prior to assessment and being a cold/wet week has no doubt been a bit hard on the sheep. Sheep will continue to go ahead from here on forward and flourish come the spring time on good feed. A regretful sale for the vendor but their hand has been forced. A good chance to secure quality young ewes from a proper sheep breeder who year in year out sells some of the heaviest sucker lambs we sell.
