Assessor Comments
Young ewes that form part of a flock dispersal from Kurrajong Park. These ewes are all SIL to Merino rams (15% multiples) and will offer a restocker the chance to enter a Merino breeding program with a line of classed ewes. Once the dry conditions in the southern states abate and with the mutton/lamb markets currently on fire there will ultimately be a shortage of breeding ewes available and could in all likelihood be a valuable commodity moving forward. These ewes have also been in an OJD Gudair vaccination program so offer purchasers from all areas to operate on these ewes. Ewes have in the past had a lice issue but the management has gone all out to eradicate it from last shearing back in January. There are a few that are rubbing but no lice was observed visually (no guarantees) and I put it down to a light grass seed irritation on the skin.
