Assessor Comments
850 VGQ NSM Merino Ewes. They weighed 39 - 70 kg to average 50.7 kg after a 21 hour curfew off feed & water. They were shorn at the start of July & treated off shears with Fennec Pour on *63 day WHP & 84 day ESI*. There were 102 Ewes sampled out of 850 with 4 x Black Tags (2024), 28 x Blue Tags (2023), 23 x Red Tags (2022), 39 x Yellow Tags (2021) & 8 x Purple Tags (Sept-Oct 2020 Drop). Feb-April Drop Flock apart from Purple Tags. There were 2 x 4 teeth, 10 x 6 teeth, 85 x GSM & 5 x Worn (reasonable profile still left). There are approx 20% score 1 Ewes that are still freshening up after having Lambs weaned from them at Shearing. These Ewes are not culls, just the older Ewes that Vendor is lightning off due to good prices & a heavy pest burden this year. Approx 85% are Vendor Bred based on Landsdowne Bloodlines with the remainder purchased in from a Mt Ascot/Barcaldine Downs flock. There were 10 x assessed Ewes with scaly ears, 1 x Ewe missing 1 ear & 5 x Ewes with slightly longer Toes. All Ewes have been Muelsed & are ready to join to a Ram of your choice.

There are approximately 85% Vendor Bred Ewes, with the remainder purchased in from “Koondi” at Corfield. Vendor purchased the “Koondi” Ewes 4 years ago.
Breeding Comments
Vendor’s have been using “Landsdowne” Merino Genetics for over 40 years & have been classing their Ewes for over 30 years. Recently “Egelabra” Rams have been used. Koondi Ewes are based on “Mt Ascot & Barcaldine Downs” Genetics.
Grazing Conditions
Hayed off Mitchell & Buffel Grass with some green shoot through it. Ewes have freshened up well since shearing & would now be maintaining.
