Purple tag 5.5yr old NSM Yalgoo blood ewes. Ewes were purchased directly from Yalgoo as hoggets in 2022. Yalgoo genetics are leading the industry and performing outstandingly in many wether trials and benchmarking
programs. Ewes will be sold before the ram sale. Ewes will suit a self-replacing merino flock to generate future breeders or ideal ewes to join to a terminal ram to target the lucrative current lamb market.
Ewes present in forward store condition having lambs weaned off them 6 weeks ago. Ewes cut 4.5kgs of 16.1micron wool at their last shearing. Ewes are individually electronically tagged. From those mouthed, all had GSMs. Ewes have been enrolled in a BarberVax vaccination program since purchase.
In the New England in lowest decile rainfall Yalgoo
clients were able to generate $106 of EBIT per ha/100mm. This is close to double the EBIT/per/ha /100m of the best wool
producers(top 20%) in the Holmes and Sackett database for 2018.
