Heifers were run straight in from the paddock & walked down the road to the yards. They were given only a few minutes ‘cool off’ period before assessing. They were all very quiet & obliging to walk through the yards/race & into the crush. A number of heifers had lost their ear tag/button, so were caught in the headbail at weighing to be re-tagged, 5 were listed above as slightly stirry after this process. All walked out into the yard & were very quiet to approach for photos/video’s.

Assessor Comments
A rare offering of genuine classed heifers from the highly renowned Cudgewa North herd. Boasting 30+ years of Te Mania Angus genetics, and running a stringent, high performing operation, focusing mainly on producing top end marbling steers for the feedlot. These are a very nice line of well grown heifers. Preg tested in calf to a high performing Kirby sire, (in the top 1% for IMF) with ideal calving attributes, being +2.4 for birthweight & top1% for day to calving. Cudgewa North run a moderate mature cow herd (MCW 640-680kg), with emphasis put into achieve optimum feedlot weights at just 13-15 months. Sought after by top end feedlots for their marbling & carcass weight. Big roomy heifers that won’t eat like an 800kg breeder, but will put those 400kg weaners on the ground. These females carry top class genetics, backed by reputation and would be an absolute asset for a buyer wanting a herd of high IMF performing breeders.
