The cows are big healthy cattle that were concerned about their calves being taken off and understandably a few pushed through the mob trying to get back to them, however overall, despite their size, they handled well and were more showing motherly characteristics than being stirry.

A well presented large to very large mob of cows with their third strong well built calf at foot . The mostly Bongongo blood cows are big and roomy and in the prime of their lives, and those with the earlier calves are showing signs of being ready to go back to the bull. The calves show great vigour and muscle. There are two bought in cows, one Angus and one broken baldy (both with green tags in the media), and one big calf that is a result of a neighbours Charolais bull, she is a beauty. We mouthed one bought cow which is shown to be young and strong. At assessment one cow was seen to have a blue eye, and another a couple of slightly longer toes, see photos. ( please note, one of the cows was not yarded at assessment as she was still in the paddock with a new bull calf, her weight was put in at the average, and the calf at 40kg) There are 13 black, 11 Speckled and 1 grey in the calves.
