Cows and calves were settled as they were worked through yards and race during assessment. % cows became slightly unsettled when confined or while being mouth but were quick to resettle once released.

A line of 22 Angus heifers with their first calf at foot that present in strong store condition to have an estimated average delivery weight of 437.6kg. Calves are sired by Angus bulls and were all weighed at assessment to average 170kg. Heifers have been rejoined to Charolais and Red Brahman bulls. Buyers, heifers and calves have done exceptionally well since being introduced to a higher nutrition as they were moved to the current property on adjistment 4 weeks ago. Please note; 2 heifers have slight blue eye. 5 calves noted to have blemishes in one eye ranging from current pink eye infection to infections that have healed and left scarring. Any heifers or calves that have pink eye infections at the time of delivery will NOT be pulled out. Large amounts of buffalo were present on cattle at the time of assessment and a small % were noted to have irritation around eyes. Back rubbers have been put out with heifers and calves since assessment.
