Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Cows were pretty fast in most areas of the yards. They are easily spooked and tend to gallop around in the bigger yards when you get into their flight zone. They need to be blocked up through gateways. Nothing thought to be aggressive in the bigger yards though. They did react negatively when they were in close quarters in the race and crush and exited the crush rapidly. Contractors did say they are good to handle in the paddock on horses with dogs. Best handled by experienced stock people.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, predominantly a line of large to medium frame cows 2-8 years that have presented in excellent condition from the favourable seasonal conditions being experienced all with calves at foot. Noted some of these have minor buffalo fly rub marks on the head and neck, no issues here. Noted one cow has a long toe that has curled in and as a result she is slightly lame (see photo). There are also 3 calves with enlarged navels. These females are the last part of a herd dispersal that commenced back in December. They are in their breeding prime with most of this lot only 3-5 years. There are a total of six lots of cows and calves and a line of PTIC cows that can be used to build a very handy breeder herd. Calves appear to be by mainly by Santa bulls. Buyers will still need to be aware there are further dipping requirements for entry into all tick free areas. Due to the requirement to be held in yards until delivery these cows a negative weight gain has been applied.
