Heifers were well settled in the yards and were easily drafted off the calves prior to assessment. 4 heifers were slightly stirry whilst being weighed through the crush, with 2 heifers continuing to be agitated, whilst the other 2 settled well when let out into a holding yard. Once re-united with their calves after assessment for photos, they stood calmly in a small holding paddock while being photographed.

Assessor Comments
A nice line of well grown HARD HAT ANGUS sired heifers, station bred at Packsaddle, & carrying the renowned ONE TREE STATION Tag. These heifers were purchased as part of a line of mixed sex yearlings back in January, ex Auctionsplus. Previous owner stated heifers had been running with HARD HAT Angus bulls from weaning until delivery (2/1/23). Vendor drafted the heavier heifers from the mob on arrival & joined to his Speckle Park bull, in anticipation of some of the heifers already being in calf on arrival. All but one heifer have calved to the previous owners Hard Hat Angus bulls. These heifers are fresh & forward in condition with plenty of stretch, suggesting further development as they continue to mature. Spread in calving due to management practices of previous owner. 4 heifers in the mob out of Angus/Shorthorn/Droughtmaster cross cows presented with slight Droughtmaster influence, & 1 slightly brindle heifer has a more dominant Droughtmaster appearance.

Vendor Comments
Purchased ex Auctionsplus back in January along with the steer portion, with the intent to grow the steers to feeder weights, and retain the un-joined heifer portion for breeding. These first calver heifers do not align with our joining program.
