WELL BEHAVED HEIFERS, TYPICAL OF THE HEREFORD BREED. 3 X HEIFERS WERE AGITATED WHEN I MOUTHED THEM IN THE HEAD BALE BUT SETTLED ONCE THEY MOVED OUT OF THE CRUSH. AT TIMES THEY WERE A PAIN TO MOVE UP THE RACE DUE TO THEIR DOCILITY. AT NO TIME DID I FEEL THREATENED IN THEIR PRESENCE. MUSTERING WAS A BREEZE AND THERE WAS NO KICKING OUT IN THE YARDS. DITTO WITH THE CALVES. VERY EASY TO MOVE THRIUGH THE YARDS AND CRUSH AND WERE WELL BEHAVED.

A GOOD LINE OF POLL HEREFORD & HEREFORD HEIFERS WITH THEIR 1ST CALF ON THE GROUND & HAVE BEEN RUNNING WITH AN ANGUS BULL FOR 10 WEEKS. ALL HEIFERS CALVED UNASSISTED THIS YEAR. HEIFERS PRESENT IN GOOD FRESH FORWARD STORE CONDITION WITH GOOD BONE & DEPTH OF BODY FOR AGE. A GOOD FRAME THAT MAY WELL DEVELOP TO LARGE FRAMED BASED ON THE 4 TOOTH UNITS IN THIS MOB.CALVES ARE FRESH, SAPPY & MARKED. NICE SHINY RICH RED COLOURED COAT. ALL EYES CHECKED & NO SIGNS OF ANY PINK EYE OR ASSOCIATED PROBLEMS. THERE WERE 2 CALVINGS IN THIS MOB, MAY/JUNE THEN JULY, HENCE THE SPREAD ON THE CALF WEIGHTS, WITH THE HEAVIER CALVES DUE FOR WEANING SOON. ALL HEIFERS HAVE BEEN MOUTHED, SEE DENTITION. THESE ARE NOT CULLS BUT ARE ONE MOB OF A LARGER CONSIGNMENT THAT WAS PURCHASED OUT OF VICTORIA AS PART OF A HERD REBUILD. GOOD QUALITY YOUNG BREEDERS IN THE PRIME OF THEIR LIVES WITH ONE CALF ON THE GROUND & A HEADSTART INSIDE WITH THE SECOND ONE ON THE WAY. GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO SECURE QUALITY FUTURE BREEDERS.
