As to be expected, the weaners that had just been taken off, ran around in yards abit, however the longer weaned ones were generally good to handle through the yards. A handful stirred up in the crush but settled quickly once let out. They have been round yard drafted.

230 Vendor Bred Crossbred Weaner heifers. Bred in Mt Isa Uplands Country, these heifers will power ahead on better quality feed. These 5 decks of heifers would be suitable to either join to bulls of your choice or feed for the domestic supermarket trade. I had a scale malfunction and was not able to weigh any of the heifers. The previous afternoon I had weighed their brothers so I am confident in estimating their weight. I estimate heifers range from 120-250 kg and average 175kg. Buyers please note it is the weight at Cloncurry registered scales that payment of c/kg live will be calculated on. There is 59 heifers that have just been fresh branded but they have not been de-horned or earmarked. The 171 remaining heifers have all been well dehorned. They have good feet. They have been weaned over the past 2 weeks and some on the day of assessment. Most weaners that have been in hand for a few days have quietened down very well. They have not been educated outside of the yard.

Cattle will be delivered to the Cloncurry Saleyards as soon as weather permits after sale. Purchaser will take delivery clear of dip and scales and pay any associated costs after delivery. There was no visible tick at assessment

Heifers will be delivered to Cloncurry by vendor and weighed off trucks after an 8 hour truck trip.
