Steers handled well in the yards and have been put through a proper weaning process. Some steers did push up the race when entering the crush but settled well when back in the mob.

Assessor Comments
Offering 108 backgrounder steers that averaged 225kg live at assessment. These steers are predominately out of purchased Brahman cross cows and are sired by Angus Bulls. The steers have been all weaned with some being pulled off in October and the remainder of the later calves weaned in early January so have had a month to settle after weaning and start to move ahead. Overall the steers handled well in the yards and are on a rising plane of nutrition going ahead so will suit a backgrounding operation. Please note 3 head were noted with fluid in the scrotum and were checked in the crush and found to be soft to handle and not deemed detrimental. Also, there were 5 steers noted with weeping eyes and 2 with light scarring on one eye.
