Heifers were generally pretty easy to handle through the bigger yards and force, they do need to be steadied through gateways (usual practice). Some heifers were considered stirry in the race and most resented being preg tested. Most heifers exited the crush pretty quickly but settled quickly once back in the mob. There were a few heifers that reacted negatively when isolated however they had only just been preg tested. Best handled in a steady manner.

Assessor Comments
Here are some Composite type heifers that have been drafted on the amount of Bos Indicus content in them. These are considered the “flatback” types that should suit feedlot entry for the major domestic supermarket trade. Also suit to go onto a winter oats crop and target grassfed MSA domestic markets. They would also be highly suitable to go to bulls for future breeding operations and with the breed breakup could stand most breeds of bulls. They have been pregnancy tested non-detectable. Noted 1 heifer with a slightly enlarged naval. Also 3 with old buffalo fly rub on the neck and an additional heifer with light warts on the head. There are 190 in the run and they will be delivered as a “run out the gate” into two even lots if purchased by multiple buyers. Many of these are “brindle baldies” and history would suggest they seem to do like steam!
