These heifers handled well in the yards. A small percentage became slightly agitated in the crush during mouthing, which is to be expected and also at close quarters in the round yard. Cattle worked through the yards well and required very little steadying through gateways. Heifers are best suited to being handled in a quiet manner, some would become agitated if there was too much pressure.

A small line of good quality Santa and Santa cross heifers that have presented in tremendous condition. These heifers generally show great breed character and would suit restockers looking to put the bulls in straight away. They are growthy heifers with plenty of volume and weight for age. There are 9 heifers with some white either on the head from the old Braford infusion or some on the underline of the straight Santa’s. There are also 3 that have very minor slightly twisted noses, hardly noticeable really. They would also suit to feed. They have had a pre-treatment and will still require a swim and clean scratch at a clearing dip for entry into any tick free areas. There is a shortage of quality breeding females at the moment, still a hangover from the big dry of 2019 so don’t dismiss these. They are an article that can be retained or put to the bull and preg test as a solid trade. Please note there is also 27 steers, same age in the sale that can be used to go with them.
