Temperament not assessed in Paddock
These were very good to handle in all areas of the yards. They marched up the race very well and most were steady on the weighing platform. They were also good to handle in the bigger yards but like all cattle probably need to be steadied through gateways and stood up well during photographing. Buyer advised to settle these heifers on arrival before letting them go out of the yards. Contractors stated these are very good to handle on horses in the paddock.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, here are 62 Composite yearling heifers that were removed from the line of 180 red heifers also being offered in this sale. These will suit to background up to heavier domestic feeder entry weights. They present in store to forward store condition and their temperament cannot be faulted. These heifers had a tough start to life as it didn’t start to rain here until about October 2023, prior to that they were on rations. They have really bounced away in a big way since the rain started. Heifers exhibit softness, plenty of length and depth of barrel and plenty of femininity. The vendors are not frightened to spend money on the right genetics, always looking to move their herd forward. We are receiving excellent feedback from past buyers about the performance of the steers they often offer on AuctionsPlus.

These are part of a normal annual turnoff. These were very good to handle on horses whilst mustering for assessment.

Any Access To Bulls or Stags?
Yes, last access to bulls/stags: 05/03/2024
Joining Access Details
Two Cree Santa bulls were removed from these at assessment. Vendor is of the opinion that they have only had access to the heifers for approx. 3 weeks. There was some flood fencing damage on the Maranoa River that enabled them to get in.
