Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Steers were generally good to handle in the yards and through the race and crush. Six head were mildly agitated and one steer highly agitated in and exiting the crush. The balance of the steers would stand quietly in the crush but would exit the crush quickly. In the bigger yard they were generally settled but four steers were nervous and would not completely settle unless given more space.

Assessor Comments
A good to very good quality line of vendor bred steers. These steers are medium to large frame and suit to take onto feed for the domestic feeder markets. They also suit to take onto crop and finish for a a range of domestic and export slaughter markets. They have not had grain or cotton seed during their lives and are eligible for pasture fed programs. One steer had photosensitivity damage to the tips of its ears on both sides (see photos) - not considered detrimental. No active pink eye was observed but a few steers had slightly weeping eyes and they will be rechecked prior to loading. They are from a second weaning in 2021 as they were late calves born in the first half of 2021. They had a LWR of 301 - 417 kg full weight. They are located right on the Leichardt Hwy between The Gum and Moonie and would fit into loads moving north and south. Good quality growthy steers that will continue to move ahead on good feed.
