Temperament not assessed in Paddock
The first time through the race & weigh box they are somewhat typical of fresh weaners when pressured yet inquisitive & placid to handle if managed appropriately. The majority are fidgety or keen when in or leaving the the weigh box yet settled down when reunited with the mob. Previous experience will show with the normal handling at Thornville the steers will be very settled by delivery. The Thornville cattle are well known for their quiet disposition and great temperament.

Assessor Comments
#2 Steers by very good quality Rondel Droughtmaster bulls from a great herd of large frame Droughtmaster & D/M cross cows. 181 are 252-379kg with 5x 380- 410kg & 8x 410-451kg. They have performed exceptionally well. Steers showing great length, depth & bone structure, with plenty of frame to add weight. The steers will be handled until delivery in a normal weaning process as if being retained. Very tidy around the head with a large majority of polls. 1 Angus cross steer, a black Brahman D/M cross, 15 steers with slight brahman content showing moderate crest/hump - all good quality. 3 steers with very minor ringworm (clearing) 1 white underline & feet. 11 steers belong to another family member & are pure Rondel Droughtmaster bred & blood. You will do well to find another line of #2 Droughtmaster & D/M cross steers as good - weight for age, quality, temperament and potential. Often retained to feeder weights.
