Assessor Comments
These steers present in great condition and will really go ahead given the opportunity. They show great weight for age and the quality of the breeding is easy to see. GQ bulls have been used at Baroona for many years and only the best cows have been retained as seasonal conditions have seen heavier culling than normally expected in many herds. Steers have great length and bone and are really soft to look at. There is a variance in weights, as the herd is continuously joined, but in no way a factor to the quality of the animals. There are 20 Heifers in same sale that would make a neat 2 deck load. They averaged 263kg. One steer was more brindle in colour than the rest and 1 steer had slight ringworm patches on neck and flank. 4 steers had a ring put on them at weaning, these were the lighter animals.
