Cattle are in a very strong store to forward store condition at assessment, would look to have no concerns trucking long distances. odd lighter condition steer below 3mm fat, predominately the few #0's already weaned, still fit and healthy and will travel without issue.

Steers had had minimal handling at time of assessment however still worked extremely well through the yards. Small percentage baulked going into the weigh box or turned around in the race. when moving between bigger yards steers worked very well and had little to no trot with no-one controlling the lead. exceptional temperament that will only improve with more handling over the coming week.

Grazing Conditions
A good quality stand of hayed off Mitchell, Flinders and buffell grass on undulating black soil downs and broken frontage country. Abundance of pig weed and other summer herbages still prevalent.
Returned to: Steers yard weaned since the 20th, getting fed good quality hay and being tailed out until delivery on pasture described above.

An excellent line of first round weaner steers showing their potential early. generally these steers would be held through to feeder weights however with a deteriorating season on our fattening blocks we have made the decision to sell steers early.
