These steers handled well considering they had just come straight off cows. Steers were settled on their mothers but when taken off as small individual groups for the first time they did rush around a little. After being locked up for weaning over the next week until delivery plus also with next few lots of handling these steers will settle down to be docile cattle like the rest of the Marrington herd.

Assessor Comments
A nice lot of well bred Shorthorn steers ready to pack on the kilos over winter. These steers will perform well no matter where they go having come directly from the renowned Marrington Shorthorn herd. Marrington blood cattle are known for their carcass quality with big EMA & great carcass shape in the back end. In these steers the fresher calves with higher fat score are just weaned off their mothers and steers with low fat score were weaned 6 weeks ago and turned out on to dry grass country. As assessment time was late it was hard to get photos that do justice to the quality of these steers. Please take time to see video. *note very odd steer showed slight blue scaring in eye from old treated pinkeye. These eyes are nearly completely cleared up and have to be looked at quite closely to notice.*
