Steers were very easy to handle through the entire assessment process. Majority of steers flowed very easily through drafting and up race and into weigh box. Odd steer showed signs of discomfort in weihgbox but settled quickly once returned to mob.

An outstanding run of ‘Ellingerrin’ EU Accredited Black Baldy weaner steers sired by Leading AI Sires in Texas Powerplay, Texas Reality and Lawsons Rocky as well as bulls from Dunoon Angus, most of which were sons of renowned marbling sire Rennylea L519. The steers are out of large framed females based on Dunoon Angus and Days Whiteface Hereford genetics. Steers are June/July 2023 drop and are showing exceptional weight for age, having been weaned 8-10 weeks. Due to high level of emphasis placed bull selection both AI and Natural the steers show tremendous amounts of length, shape and overall fleshing ability. The Ellingerrin herd is noted for their ability to perform on both grass (JBS Farm Assurance) and grain programs commonly reaching export slaughter weights at early ages. Steers present in ideal condition to background to feeder weights or to carry onto slaughter weights. The Ellingerrin cattle come with highest of recommendation for any beef production system.
