Temperament not assessed in Paddock
They were good to handle in the race and through the crush. Five head were slightly agitated in and exiting the crush. All settled quickly back in the mob. Given they were weaned with nose rings they were very good to handle in the yards. Vendor will move them in and through the yards between assessment and delivery.

Assessor Comments
A fair through to mostly good quality line of weaner steers. They range from Angus x Angus, Angus cross through to some Angus x steers showing some Bos Indicus content. They suit to background to heavy domestic and then onto export feeder steer weights. They are eligible for Grass finished programs. Most steers are 6 - 9 months old and then another group are 12 - 14 months old that came as baby calves on cows purchased in November 2022. They have been weaned using nose rings from Sept - Nov and then have been running back with the dried off cows. They were separated at assessment and will be handled in and through the yards prior to delivery. However they were very settled in the yards and are fully weaned. Active pink eye was noted in a keeper steer at assessment. Vendor will treat any suspect eyes between now and delivery and they will be rechecked prior to delivery. A nice line of weaner steers carrying very little condition but which are fresh in the coat and moving ahead nicely.
