They were good to handle in the race and through the crush. Three head were slightly agitated in and exiting the crush and two became highly agitated. All settled quickly back in the mob. Given they were weaned with nose rings they were very good to handle in the yards. Vendor will move them in and through the yards between assessment and delivery.

A fair through to mostly good quality line of weaner heifers. They range from Angus x Angus, Angus cross through to some showing some Bos Indicus content in the coat and navel. They are mostly medium to large frame and suit to background to heavy domestic feeder weights and then finish for a range of high quality MSA markets. They are eligible for Grass finished programs. Most are 6 - 9 months old and then another group are 12 - 14 months old that came as baby calves on cows purchased in November 2022. Heifers had access to bulls while on the cows and for buyer confidence, twelve heifers over 250 kg were vet preg tested post assessment with 8 being NDP and another 4 being needled to terminate the early pregnancies. Some active pink eye was noted in other cattle at assessment and the vendor will treat any suspect eyes between now and delivery and they will be rechecked prior to delivery. A nice line of Angus and soft cross bred heifers that will move ahead quickly on good feed.

Two mobs of station mated cows with calves at foot were purchased A+ in Sept and Nov 2022. These are the calves that were inside those cows or were small calves on those cows on arrival.
