Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Heifers were very good to handle in all areas of the yards and also considered quiet when moving from yard to yard. In the crush they were generally quiet even whilst being fitted with an NLIS device. Generally, the temperament is not an issue at all. Buyers should be warned however, most cattle need to be settled down on arrival after a truck trip and in strange surroundings before they are shown the bush gate.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, a 3-deck line of good quality soft flatback weaner heifers bred on light Ironbark forest type country. These heifers do not appear to have suffered any setbacks and have presented in good store condition so expected to really go ahead quickly on heavier country. Most show adequate weight for age and length and would suit to use as future breeders. They will also suit backgrounders to take them through on either crop or improved pastures to heavier domestic feedlot entry weights. They do appear to be in very good health, very clear in the eye and no respiratory issues. The 26 heifers that are second round No1's were all mouthed as milk tooth. Buyers in clean country be aware these will have had two plunge dips in preparation for entry to all tick free areas. Repeat buyers are now operating and buying these cattle so the "proof is in the pudding".
