Heifers were good to handle through round yard at draft and through the crush at assessment. The odd heifer was a bit quick at draft but nothing that would square up, just looking for a gate. 4 heifers were noted to be uneasy in the crush.

Assessor Comments
2 decks of predominantly crossbred/flatback lightweight heifers ready to go on with to background for the feeder market. The lack of available feed has resulted in these heifers being offered to make room. A majority of these heifers were out of purchased PTIC cows (purchased earlier this year) with a smaller % being vendor bred. Well handled in the paddock predominantly with bikes and dogs but have also seen helicopters and horses. Heifers were weaned at "Herbertvale" early September then trucked to "Malakoff" so have had travel experience. 7 brindle heifers were noted at assessment. Heifers were bangtailed at assessment and were walked out to an empty, easily accessible paddock with no other heifers adjoining them (separate paddock to the other mob being offered in this sale). Plenty of Frame for their weight and will surge ahead on good feed. Note 2 decks of heavier heifers being offered in this sale.
