Assessor Comments
On offer by “Coally Pastoral” Ex One Tree station are 96 mixed sex weaners 9-12 months of age. Line is made up of 52 steers and 44 heifers. 71 head are Hard hat Angus x Shorthorn/Shorthorn X with some Droughtmaster influence with the heifer component having a notch out of the end of the ear for management purposes, the remaining 25 are Hard hat Angus x Shorthorn cows. Weighing 325kg after a long 18hr curfew with warm weather weaners have presented well at assessment and have filled up nicely after the opportunity to water and quality vetch/lucerne hay which will be on offer until delivery. Approx 5 head were observed to have some white marks on the heads or under bellies. Weaners are showing good growth for age with plenty of potential and would suit backgrounding/feedlot or future breeding operations given the chance. *Note-2 head had some light scarring in the eye and were treated with terramycin as well as 3 head with some small warts on the face/neck but not deemed detrimental.
