Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Heifers were reasonably quick in most areas of the yards, however there were ring leaders that had an influence on the balance. Most heifers were unsettled in the crush however it must be noted these were pregnancy tested prior to being assessed and as such would have had an impact on their behavior. Most heifers did thrash around a bit when being mouthed but that is a totally usual reaction. No heifers identified as aggressive in the entire lot.

Assessor Comments
Buyers an opportunity to purchase a B-Double load of crossbred heifers ready for immediate entry onto grain. Heifers appear to be mainly flatback types however a small percentage do have a slight crest/ear. Heifers have done extremely well since purchase on sweet flood out country at Quilpie. Most show very good bone and carcass traits and will suit the domestic supermarket trade. All heifers in the lot were mouthed 0-2 tooths with a couple of the 2-tooths only just cutting. Believe these heifers have had a full curfew being 24 hours plus in the yards on a reasonably warm day. Due to the range in breed type a large array of photos have been attached.
