Assessor Comments
A mostly good to very good quality line of Angus and Angus cross yard weaned heifers. With mostly medium to large frame they suit to background to heavy domestic weights while the top half are suitable as future breeders. Due to access to bulls while on the cows the heifers were Vet preg tested at assessment with 11 NDP (not detectably pregnant), three Hfrs were 2-3 months in calf and seven were deemed too small by the vet and were not preg tested. All 21 heifers were treated with Ovuprost to terminate any early pregnancies. A pregnancy certificate is available. The heifers were yard weaned at assessment onto good quality oaten hay and will be fed in yards upto delivery. No pink eye was visible at assessment. However, the yards were dusty and heifers eyes will be checked prior to delivery. Heifers with active pink eye will not be loaded. They are a good quality line of heifers that suit a range of markets and are located close to Goondiwindi (opposite the airport) to assist trucking.
