Heifers considering they have only just been weaned were actually good to handle in most areas of the yards. A few did react negatively in the crush but settled quickly once back with the main mob. In the bigger yards there were some ring leaders that still have a bit of trot in them which is quite normal and makes the balance follow the leader a bit. They also need to be steadied through gateways. These should settle down further by delivery.

Assessor Comments
Buyers a light 2 deck line of PCAS ELIGIBLE Brangus Composite weaner heifers that are mainly flat back types and should be ideal to suit to background for domestic feeder entry weight specifications. These have only been off the cows or a few days and are already starting to settle down quite well temperament wise. There are also a further load of Composite red heifers in the sale and I feel both lots would make up 5 decks. The vendor has indicated these will be reserved at very realistic prices. All up at the property there are 527 weaners being offered in the sale. These have also had an on-farm pre-treatment in preparation for entry to all tick free areas. All clearing costs are at the purchasers expense.
