Buyers a light 2 deck line of PCAS ELIGIBLE Composite weaner steers that are mainly flat back types and should be ideal to suit to background for domestic feeder entry weight specifications. There were about 9 in the lot that do have a small amount of hump visible in the video. These have only been off the cows for anywhere from 3-10 days and have already settled down very well temperament wise. I would suggest most of these have been self-weaned by their mothers with the dry weather kicking in. As a result, there is no sign of any milk in them so I feel there could be some compensatory gain provided they go onto some improved pastures. There were about 8 head that show the signs of early weaning as they are a little bit dried out but not woody. All up at the property there are 273 weaners being offered in the sale. There are about 3 of the later cut steers still showing some dominant male characteristics however this should disappear as they mature further. Pre-treated for ticks.

Bred from cows that are Composite that contain Belmont Red/Shorthorn/Droughtmaster and odd cow with a splash of Senepol. All by Shorthorn, Red Brangus and Belmont Red Composite bulls.

Running on a short dry coverage of Buffel grass whilst on the cows. Since weaning have been in the yards being fed Buffel grass hay.

There are steers age branded No5's and was a mistake, they should have been branded No4's. They were also only recently cut and as a consequence there is a fair amount of swelling in the purse as they are still healing.
