Some of the Weaners were quick to handle through the yards and the round yard and took a while to settle in the crush. However this is not unusual for freshly weaned weaners. I understand they have settled done well in the yard since assessment

87 Mixed sex Santa and Santa X Weaners that average 144 kg at assessment. The 41 Steers averaged 151 kg and the 46 heifers averaged 139 kg. Most the weaners are not sappy so you are not buying mothers milk and they should go straight ahead on good quality feed. They are very well de-horned or polled. Majority have good bone, length and depth and will grow into very good heavy feeders. The heifers are certainly good enough quality to retain as breeders. There is approximately 23 head that are progeny from Santa / Brahman Cross cows and therefore showing a slight hump. There is 6 brindle/black, 4 with white under belly and 1 with a white face. A few heifers have pendulous navels but nothing in excess of 6 inches and 1 steer has a fist size lump under his near ear. Manfred is Prickly Acacia free. Weaners will be cleared of tick on farm or in Julia Creek at vendors expense. Please note Vendor has 4 decks of Santa Gertrudis PTIC cows in the Eastern States Sale.
