These heifers were good to handle in the yard as a result of Maronan's strong focus on education of weaners.

An ideal opportunity to purchase a good line of vendor bred, 1 brand heifers that at assessment ranged in weight from 250- 428 and averaged 318kg. I mouthed all the heifers over 350kg and there was only 3 heifers with two teeth and they were over 400kg. These heifers would be ideal to grow into heavy feeders or you could take them home and join them straight away as there was 86 heifers over 270 kg. About 22 of the heifers have small to medium humps however the remainder would be considered flatback with only slight to no hump. We treated 1 heifer for Pink Eye with Terramycin powder and I would expect the eye to heal up. There were 4 heifers with old fly bites. These heifers have not been joined but I see a heifer that could have got in calf prior to weaning. Please note Vendor has another 3 decks of lighter heifers in the same sale.
