Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Steers were very good to handle in the yards. All but one were very quiet while in the race and crush and they border on being classed as docile. One steer became slightly agitated in the crush and exited quickly. All settled once back in the yard together and all remained quiet when being photographed. The vendor runs a cell grazing operation and steers are used to electric fences. Vendor handles stock using Low Stress Stock techniques.

Assessor Comments
A good through to mostly very good quality line of Shorthorn and Shorthorn Cross EU accredited steers. These vendor bred steers are mostly large to medium framed and they suit to take to the heavy end of EU export feeder weights and then finish for a range of high quality grass or grainfed markets. Please note the steers had a 20 hour yard curfew in the rain prior to assessing. Light rain was also falling during the assessment limiting the light for photos and videos. The steers were yard weaned in May using LSSH techniques and have been treated with two 7 in 1's, two Pestigard injections & a Mulitin. Please note three steers have slight blue eye in one eye while one steer has a moderate blue eye spot in one eye (see photo). They have not had access to grain and are eligible for a range of grass finished programs. This is the lead two decks with a lighter deck of steers removed as assessment. Assessed LWR 221 - 353 kg curfewed.
