Calves did display some run when handling and drafting. Filed through race & crush well, but around 5 head were edgy in confines of crush. Generally cattle were good to handle, but a percentage were constantly on the move.

A nicely bred draft of Angus steers, being principally Coolana, Pathfinder & Stoney Point blood. Presenting in store to forward store condition, calves have been well weaned and are up to date with vaccinations. Whilst approximately 20% are not vendor bred, the Waka Pastoral cattle have very good past performance on grass & the feedlot. Waka Pastoral sire selection places emphasis on moderate birth, above average 400 day growth and good shape and confirmation. Noted around 5-10% showing signs of rubbing. Steers with the breeding & performance to take on and background to feedlot weights or finish into export market. (NOTE: vendor offers 83 Angus steers (two lots) & 90 Angus heifers (two lots) in this sale).

Majority of calves are vendor bred (approx 80%). Vendor did acquire Western District bred cows and calves in spring last year of which the calves make up a portion (approx 20%) of this consignment.
