Assessor Comments
A quality line of 1 mark store wether lambs bred ex Mahanewo Stn. Ideal as future wool cutters as they are M&TS or to top up in the feedlot for the promising late Winter lamb market. There is 580 lambs in the line (to be sold as 2 x290 HD as a run out the gate). This represents the majority of the complete drop less approx 10% tail removed at assessment. Lambs were backgrounded on cereal/legume stubbles and then trained onto barley in feeders for 4-6 weeks, as well as adlib cereal hay & wheat straw. Vendor would normally finish these lambs but seasonal conditions have pushed these back onto the market due to prevailing wet conditions & low feed grain reserves. These wether lambs are double vaccinated, drenched, scratched and grain trained and will hit the ground running. 35 lambs mouthed at assessment and all had sound lambs teeth as seen in photos. Odd late marked lamb has thicker horn that has been dehorned and 2-3 lambs had a break in the wool.
