Assessor Comments
A good line of very well bred, Poll Dorset x unweaned, mixed sex suckers. These lambs are bred out of very good quality, large-framed Uardry blood ewes, by top quality Kanoona Park & Ashburnia Poll Dorset rams. Lambs have been running with their mothers on forage Oats crop with cereal hay supplement since being marked in early May & are demonstrating good weight for age gains, with no developmental set backs whatsoever. These lambs offer an opportunity for a relatively short term turnaround into buoyant Spring trade markets, or alternatively, lambs possess the breeding to attain export weights given extra time, shearing & continued quality feed. Please note, some lambs present with green stain on breech & tail from grazing on fresh crop. 1lamb has a large black spot on the shoulder & 2 lambs noticed with small soft scur. A small tail was drafted out prior to assessment allowing for increased evenness across the line. Vendor has 2 other lots of FX Border Leicester lambs in same sale
