Assessor Comments
A good line of very well bred, weaned FX Border Leicester wether suckers. These lambs are bred out of very good quality, large framed, Wanganella blood Merino ewes, exhibiting excellent body length & stretch, by top quality Dunnield Border Leicester rams. Lambs have been running on improved Lucerne pasture with the ewe portion since being weaned in September & are demonstrating good weight for age gains, with no developmental set backs whatsoever. These lambs would benefit greatly from being shorn now, & present an opportunity for a relatively short term turnaround into Spring trade markets, or alternatively, lambs possess the breeding potential to attain export weights, with favourable feed and management. Note, very odd lamb sampled showed minor signs of very light photosynthesis around the ears. 2 lambs had small horn. Complete drop of FX B/L Wether lambs with 10% tail drafted out. 228 FX B/L ewe portion also offered this sale, as well as 120 mixed sex Poll Dorset cross suckers.
