Assessor Comments
A good line of well bred Bungulla blood wether lambs that are really responding to some dry, sunny days after coming through a very soggy winter. Lambs are presenting in genuine store condition, & would be equally suited to either take on as future wool cutters, or fatten into trade markets. These lambs represent the entire Spring drop of wether lambs, & are generally fairly even in weights with the majority of lambs assessed grouping in the mid-30kgs, with a small tail & top at either end. Lambs have improved out of sight with the warmer weather in the last two weeks, & will go ahead quickly with access to some fattening feed. Of lambs sampled, 20% were polled, & the balance horned, and 5 lambs had black spots on ears. Approx 7 lambs in the mob have shorter, 15mm skins, from being shorn later than the rest. 1 lamb was noticed with large thick horns & 1 lamb appeared to be more ‘comeback’ in nature ( see last photo). Previous years lambs have performed well on fattening country.
