A first time offering of NSM 2020 drop future breeder Mooney Hybrid ewe lambs. The ewes present in excellent condition, expressing full genetic potential on improved perennial pasture. Averaging just under 70kg at 12-13 months the ewes show great bone and thickness right through from shoulder to the loin. All ewes are structurally sound and carry themselves well. The Mooney family have been breeding their unique Hybrid for 20 years, their progeny broke the Australian Lamb record in June 2019. Making $354.20 at 11-12 months of age dressing at 53kg @ 55%.
Mooney lambs consistently yield 52-55% at major export abattoirs. When selecting outcross sires the Mooney's select for: High EMA, Structural Soundness, Fat Cover and Weight for Age. The ewe lambs offer the buyer the opportunity to secure genetics that will produce market leading lambs in any marketplace.
