Assessor Comments
A good line of predominantly rising 6 year old ewes scanned in lamb with a high percentage of twins, to GILMORE Poll Dorset rams, to start lambing late March, for 6 weeks. Ewes are very fresh in the mouth, with only a few of the sampled ewes mouthed, showing any wear at all. These good, to larger-framed ewes have been very productive for the vendor, as affirmed by the percentage scanned to multiples, and are only being sold due to a move towards 2nd cross lamb production. Some ewes in the mob present with some length in the toenails, consistent with age. A couple of ewes present as slightly tender in the feet, as the affects of a very wet Spring have yet to fully subside. Highly productive ewes that are fresh enough in the mouth to raise this lamb, and would easily go around again. Another lot of middle-aged old SIL ewes are also being offered this sale as part of a restructuring of operations by the vendor. 1 ewe noticed with black/brown spots on face and legs.
