Assessor Comments
A neat run of 97 Hazeldean Merino 2.5 year old ewes. These ewes are not normally offered but are classed out and being sold as surplus young ewes. Hazeldean have a high commercial focus on higher wool cut at a lower micron while maintaining fertility and structure. These ewes are no acception and come with high recommendations from previous purchasers. Ewes present in fresh, forward condition and have picked up nicely since shearing in November and having lambs weaned off in january. Ewes received a drench and precautionary backline off shears. Ready to be joined to the ram of choice, these ewes will be a welcome addition to any wool growing enterprise. 5% tail was removed at assessment. OJD vacc. MN3-V status. Mulesed.
Please note: Odd ewe with small patch of water stain (not detrimental. majority have been removed from lot). Very odd ewe was lame at assessment due to above average rainfall and was removed but may still be odd one in mob. Will be re-checked at delivery.
